Welcome

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all the prayers. They mean so much! 

Today ends my first week of work as an intern. It has definitely been different than I expected. So far living in the Bronx has had it's ups and downs. 

I started off my time here by finding bed bugs. After being told they were gone, I found that in fact they were not. This led to a trip to the ER to see what to do about all of the bites I have everywhere. 

I also had the roof in the room I was staying in leak and get all the books I had brought with me wet. The leak also got on my computer, which thankfully still works! 

I'm so blessed to have a God who knows my limits better than I do and has been here every step of the way. Through the hard things I've learned what it is really like for people here and it has angered me that people actually go through this on a regular basis as part of life. 

The kids here are awesome they are so fun and full of life. Most nights they fill the house with the sounds of games and laughter.

This week we started prepping for camp. I am in charge of service projects and all of the food for camp (which has also been harder than I had expected it to be). 

I've stayed busy since getting here so I will have more coming soon and pictures!
